Parent Team Meeting 6.1.17  9:00AM

  1. History Fair Kudos -- Advancing to nationals!
    1. Performances: Karina Rog, Drina Agoji, Greta Gilmor
    2. Paper: Hank Stennes
  2. Washington D.C. 2017 → was a great success!
  3. Washington D.C. 2018 → registration now open!
    1. Registration deadline with discount extended to June 6
  4. Graduation
    1. June 15 at 5PM in the auditorium
    2. Baby pics needed of current 8th graders if not already emailed to Ms. Ulmer
    3. Students receive 8 tickets
      1. Pick up on June 14 after Spirit Cruise
    4. Diploma name spelling
      1. Ms. Ulmer sent out an email form to complete to indicate how student’s name should be spelled on diploma
      2. If not completed, Ms. Ulmer will use student portal information to fill out diploma
    5. Graduation Practice
      1. Wednesday June 14 8AM-9:00AM Auditorium
      2. Students should report to auditorium by 8AM
      3. Will distribute caps & gowns, and 8 tickets after Spirit Cruise
  5. Spirit of Chicago 8th Grade Cruise
    1. Wednesday June 14  11AM-1PM
    2. We will return to Lane in time for yellow school buses
    3. Dress code: Semi-Formal Attire that meets Lane Tech dress code policy
  6. Yearbooks → STUDENTS WILL BE NOTIFIED BY EMAIL WHEN YEARBOOKS ARRIVE
  7. End of the Year Bulletin

Thursday 6.8
  • Sports Banquet
  • 6PM
  • Cafeteria

Friday 6.9
  • Final exams for 8th graders during EVEN-NUMBERED periods.
  • All 8th graders are to return their BAR-CODED textbooks and materials to the shipping and loading dock across from room 124 (during lunch periods and after school until 4:30pm)
  • 8th grade NON BAR-CODED textbooks and materials should be collected by their teacher.
  • All LTAC debts should be cleared by the end of the day in room 118 (the Budget Office)

Monday 6.12
  • Final exams for 8th graders during ODD-NUMBERED periods. Grades must be finalized in gradebook for 8th graders that tested today.
  • All 8th graders are to return their BAR-CODED textbooks and materials to the shipping and loading dock across from room 124 (during lunch periods and after school until 4:30pm)
  • 8th grade NON BAR-CODED textbooks and materials should be collected by their teacher.

Tuesday 6.13
  • Regular school day for all grade levels
  • Make up Final Exams for 8th graders.
  • Locker cleanup for 8th graders (4th floor only)
  • High School Graduation 7:00PM at the UIC Pavilion

Wednesday 6.14
  • Regular school day for all grade levels
  • 8th grade graduation practice
    • Graduation Practice 8-9:00 (come dressed for Spirit of Chicago Cruise)
    • 9:15 leave Lane for Navy Pier
  • 8th Grade Spirit of Chicago Cruise Celebration
    • Leave Lane by 9:15AM for Navy Pier
    • Sail from 10:30-1:00pm
    • Return to Lane by 1:45pm
  • 8th grade distribution of caps and gowns, and graduation tickets in auditorium 2-3:15pm

Thursday 6.15
  • LTAC Graduation 5:00pm in Auditorium
    • 8th graders dressed and in back of Auditorium by 4:30pm
  • First day of underclassmen (7th grade) final exams -- Special Bell Schedule and Finals Schedule coming soon

Friday 6.16
  • Second day of underclassmen (7th grade) final exams -- Special Bell Schedule and Finals Schedule coming soon

Monday 6.19
  • Third day of underclassmen final exams -- Special Bell Schedule and Finals Schedule coming soon

Tuesday 6.20
  • Last day of classes
  • Make up Final Exams
  • Locker clean up for all 7th graders -- all locks will be cut off today (lockers MUST be cleaned out)

LTAC Chess Champion!


On Saturday, 8th grader Harry Heller brought home a first place trophy in the Advanced category of the final YCFC/CCF chess tournament of the season.

Representing LTAC, Harry won five out of five chess games against very challenging opponents from other CPS schools!
